A new click mechanism is the headline feature
RAWM has revealed the Leviathan V4 GT, an upcoming wireless gaming mouse positioned as a higher-performance variant of its existing Leviathan V4. The defining change is not its shell or sensor specification, both of which remain incompletely detailed, but its primary-button technology: RAWM describes each main switch as operating in dual optical and magnetic modes.
That distinction matters because premium gaming mice increasingly compete on the behaviour of their clicks as much as on low weight, sensor resolution or wireless polling rates. Optical switches use light-based detection rather than conventional metal contacts, a design intended to avoid the contact wear associated with some mechanical double-click failures. Magnetic sensing, meanwhile, can measure physical movement through changes in a magnetic field. In principle, that can allow software-controlled actuation settings and other input-tuning options.
However, RAWM has not yet published a full technical explanation of how the two sensing methods interact in the V4 GT. It is therefore too early to assume that the mouse will offer adjustable actuation points, rapid-trigger-style behaviour, or a particular latency advantage. The company’s announcement establishes the dual-mode design, but not the precise implementation or its practical benefits.
A sub-US$100 target changes the framing
The reported sub-US$100 price target is central to the V4 GT’s appeal. Magnetic input technology has become familiar in enthusiast keyboards, where users may pay a premium for fine control over key actuation. It is less established in mouse primary buttons, particularly in products attempting to stay below the US$100 mark.
If the target price is maintained at retail, RAWM would be placing an experimental input feature in a segment where buyers still expect mature fundamentals: consistent clicks, reliable wireless operation, useful software, acceptable battery life and clear regional warranty support. The unusual switch design may attract enthusiasts, but it also raises the standard for validation. A new mechanism is only valuable if it remains predictable across long gaming sessions and performs consistently between units.
The pricing claim should also be treated as provisional until orders open. Consumer hardware announcements often distinguish between an introductory price, a limited pre-order offer and a standard retail price. RAWM has not yet placed a final V4 GT product listing on its global store, so availability, shipping markets and the exact price structure have not been independently confirmed.
Evidence of an imminent wireless product
The V4 GT appears to be further along than a concept teaser. A United States radio-equipment filing identifies a product called the “RAWM LEVIATHAN V4 GT Wireless Gaming Mouse” from Shenzhen Renmo Electronic Technology, the company behind RAWM. The filing, dated August 6, 2026, covers operation in the 2.402–2.478 GHz range, consistent with a 2.4 GHz wireless implementation.
A regulatory filing does not verify gaming performance or a commercial launch date. It does, though, provide useful corroboration that a wireless V4 GT device exists and has entered the compliance process. It also supports RAWM’s public messaging that the product is nearing release rather than merely being a future development project.
In a brand-affiliate post to the MouseReview community, RAWM said pre-orders would open on August 25, 2026. The company has also shown three planned finishes: Gunmetal & Black, Abyss Blue and Matte Black. As with price, consumers should wait for the official store listing before treating colour availability as universal across all regions.
What the regular Leviathan V4 indicates — and what it does not
RAWM’s current Leviathan V4 provides context for the product family, but it should not be mistaken for a specification sheet for the GT. The existing model is listed with a PixArt PAW3950 sensor, a 55 g stated weight, dual 8K polling, a 500 mAh battery and TTC optical switches. RAWM’s global shop currently shows that model at US$89.99, discounted from US$129.99, though it is marked sold out.
That existing configuration explains why RAWM can frame the GT as an evolution rather than a wholly new platform. The original line already pursues high polling rates, low weight and optical click hardware. The GT’s announced switch system could be an attempt to add another differentiator without moving the product into the much higher prices charged by some established gaming-peripheral brands.
Still, no public material currently confirms whether the GT retains the same sensor, battery capacity, mass, dimensions, polling modes or receiver design. Nor is there enough evidence to judge the ergonomics of the new model from promotional images alone. Buyers who care most about grip shape, battery endurance or cross-platform software should wait for the final specification sheet and independent testing.
The questions that matter at launch
For prospective buyers, the V4 GT’s launch will be less about the novelty of magnetic sensing than about execution. Four issues will determine whether the design has practical value:
- whether optical and magnetic modes are user-selectable, combined, or used for different functions;
- whether actuation behaviour can be adjusted and stored reliably;
- whether the wireless connection, firmware and configuration software are stable; and
- whether the final price remains below US$100 outside promotional periods and across major sales regions.
RAWM has put forward a clear proposition: a wireless gaming mouse with an uncommon dual-mode click system at a comparatively accessible price. The regulatory record and the company’s latest announcements indicate that the product is close to market. Yet its most important details remain unconfirmed, making the August 25 pre-order opening the point at which the V4 GT should move from an intriguing announcement to a product that can be meaningfully assessed.
